I wish I had time to do these types of posts more regularly but:

    • A fascinating feature of young Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Also interesting is Venezuela’s “system,” a state sponsored music program created to reduce crime and increase the quality of life for it’s citizens. Remarkable. [60 minutes]
    • John Hagstrom, trumpet player in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to solo with his alma mater, York High School [The Doings Elmhurst]
    • Acclaimed Jazz Musician Joins NU Faculty [Daily Northwestern]
    • Jazz Studies director will bring fresh look, completely new staff [Daily Northwestern]
