While the recording of the Te Deum is terrific. My favorite portion of this disc are the motets.

Symphony No. 3 Symphony No. 3
London Sinfonietta
Elektra Nonesuch

Everyone needs this in their library. The first movement sends chills down my spine everytime I hear it.

Earquake Earquake
Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (Leif Segerstam)

This one is fun. Comes with it's own set of ear plugs, it's an explosive collection of great tunes, driving rhythms and sonic thrills.

Our Hearts Joy Our Hearts Joy
Chanticleer Records

A marvelous male chorus. The Franz Bieble Ave Maria is incredible

Mass Mass
Leonard Bernstein
Sony Classical

I have always loved the Bernstein Mass since Northwestern put on a production during my undergraduate days. Bernstein wrote this for the opening of the Kennedy Center. Be warned, this is not a traditional mass. It becomes angry, bitter, and aggressive. It's an amazing piece of music and theater.

Songs from the Trilogy Songs from the Trilogy
The Philip Glass Ensemble, et al
CBS Records

This is a great introduction to the music of Philip Glass and minimalistic music for those who are not familiar with it. Very moving.
